Robyn & Simon’s Wedding at Stirk House, Lancashire

After a short drive up to the Ribble Valley and a few car singalongs later, I arrived at Stirk House in Lancashire for Robyn and Simon’s wedding.

The couple had booked me for their ceremony music and drinks reception entertainment, and as this was my first visit to Stirk House, I was very excited to see the venue in person.

After parking up and taking in the stunning surroundings, I headed to reception to get my bearings and work out where I needed to be for setup. If you have never been to Stirk House before, let me tell you… it is BEAUTIFUL. The grounds alone are worth the trip.

I was greeted by one of the lovely coordinators, who gave me a walkthrough of the day before leading me through to the ceremony space.

The weather was completely on side and the sunshine pouring through the huge windows made the whole room look absolutely phenomenal. It is such a bright, airy, elegant space and the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony. I will attach some photos below because it truly deserves to be shown off.

After a quick setup, soundcheck, and final check of absolutely everything, I slipped into my wedding attire and got myself ready for my first ceremony of 2026.

Now, I have performed hundreds of times, including in front of audiences of over 1,000 people… but for some reason, wedding ceremonies always activate the nerves for me.

There is just something about the significance of that moment. Walking someone down the aisle is such an honour, and I never take that responsibility lightly.

With this being my first ceremony since the end of last wedding season, it is fair to say I was feeling it a little!

Anyone who knows me will know I am a chronic overplanner, so even in the highly unlikely event something goes wrong, I usually have about three backup plans ready to go. Yes, I am a worrier… but I suppose that is why I love the wedding industry so much. We are all overplanners here, aren’t we?

Before long, guests began arriving and taking their seats. Background music was on, I was in position, and remaining highly vigilant.

The lovely Gavin Young, who was hosting the day, could be heard greeting guests and guiding them into the ceremony room. As the room filled, I faded out the background playlist and began performing the guest arrival songs.

Robyn and Simon chose all wedding classics for their ceremony music, which went down beautifully. They are classics for a reason after all.

The gorgeous bride walked down the aisle to Can’t Help Falling In Love, and it was such a special moment to perform for. There is something so timeless and emotional about that song in a ceremony setting.

I will attach their full setlist below if you are looking for some wedding music inspiration for your own day.

Fast forward to the exit song, also known as the recessional, and off everyone went for the confetti shot.

This is the part of the day where I go into full supplier mode, whizzing from one side of the venue to the next and somehow managing to pack down and set back up before anyone has even realised I have moved.

A quick hop, skip, and jump later, I was ready to begin their laid-back, acoustic drinks reception set.

The atmosphere throughout the drinks reception was so lovely. Everyone at this wedding was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the other suppliers and venue staff were an absolute pleasure to work alongside.

As the set went on, the vibe built more and more until, right at the end, we had one of those spontaneous moments that end up being the best part of the day.

We added in an extra singalong completely unplanned and I performed an encore of You Got The Love, which fit the mood and the couple’s music taste perfectly.

Despite being a totally spur-of-the-moment decision, it went down SO well and ended the set on such a high.

After that, I handed back over to Gavin, who guided guests through to the wedding breakfast to continue the celebrations.

It was such a lovely day from start to finish, and an absolute pleasure to perform for Robyn and Simon as part of their wedding.

Thank you both so much for having me.
