Hi, I'm Britt!
I'm the singer behind Vocals by Britt, based in Liverpool and performing at weddings and events across the UK.
I've worked as a professional vocalist for years, but weddings have very much become my thing. I love the music, obviously, but I also love everything that comes with them. Getting to know a couple, hearing why they've chosen certain songs, watching the atmosphere change throughout the day and being trusted with moments that actually matter to people.
Music was always going to be the job.
I've always been musical. I learned different instruments growing up, but singing was the thing that really stuck.
That eventually led me into professional music training. I graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in Music Performance before going on to complete a Master's Degree in Popular Music at the University of Chester.
I'm really proud of my qualifications, but a huge amount of what I know has come from years of actually performing.
Different venues, different audiences and very different types of events teach you quickly how to read a room. Sometimes the music needs to sit quietly in the background and create an atmosphere. Sometimes a room is ready to completely come alive. Knowing the difference is a massive part of the job.

There's no agency, sales team or handover once you've paid your deposit. I'm the person answering your messages, learning your songs, chatting through your plans, speaking to your venue and turning up on the day.
I'm quite particular about the little things. I like knowing where I'm setting up before I arrive. I want your aisle song ready long before anybody starts walking. I want to know what the room is doing, what happens next and where I need to be without you having to think about any of it.
On the day itself, my job is to make the music feel effortless, even if there's quite a lot happening behind the scenes to make it that way.

Musically, I'm difficult to put in one box.
My repertoire is a bit of a mixture, which suits weddings perfectly.
I love the softer side of the day. A beautiful aisle song, a stripped-back acoustic version of something unexpected or a big first dance ballad will always be a favourite, but I equally love the point where the day starts to get louder.
That moment when someone recognises the first few seconds of a song, looks at their friends and suddenly everybody is singing along is very hard to beat.
My repertoire covers pop, soul, Motown, country, indie, rock, 90s and 00s throwbacks and plenty of songs that probably aren't the first thing you'd expect from a wedding singer.
Some weddings are full of romantic acoustic music, others somehow end up with me singing Foo Fighters, Paramore, Cascada or Ultrabeat.
Both are very much welcome.
So, Why Weddings?
I think it's the fact that no two ever feel the same.
I've sung while couples have tried desperately not to cry walking down the aisle, watched grandparents quietly singing every word of a song from across the room, and performed wedding breakfasts where most of the guests have ended up on their feet.
You get to see so many different sides of people in one day.
I also really love how personal the music can be, an aisle song isn't just another song in my repertoire. Usually, there's a reason you've chosen it!
The same goes for a first dance, a song your family always plays at parties, or something slightly ridiculous that has become "your song" for reasons nobody else would understand.
Getting trusted with those moments is something I never take for granted.
The important stuff, obviously.
Because if I’m potentially spending one of the biggest days of your life with you, we should probably establish whether we’d actually get on…
Go-to silly pose — Peace signs and a weird tongue. Obviously. I have apparently never learned another pose.
Favourite snack — Chocolate orange. Always. No further questions.
Drink of choice — A crispy Pepsi Max. If we’re talking alcohol, make it a Hugo.
Favourite music to listen to — Dad Rock girly at heart. Give me Nickleback and Bon Jovi and anything with an unnecessarily long guitar solo.
Favourite thing to sing — I actually love a ballad. Give me a big vocal and let me be dramatic for four minutes.
Accent — Absolutely all over the shop. Nobody can work out where I’m from and, at this point, neither can I. (It’s a strange Scouse/Devon hybrid - don’t even get me on the North/South debate)
Wedding weakness — I might end up clapping along to your speeches like i’ve known you for 20 years,, and definitely fighting back the emotion during your ceremony.
Most likely to be doing between sets — Drinking water, or chatting the ears off somebody’s nan.
My toxic trait — Hearing a song in public and immediately thinking, “I could weddingify that.”
Guaranteed way to win me over — Give me a ridiculously specific song request. The weirder the better.
